Get ready for a week filled with drawing creatures, being inspired by famous artists, and creating a 3D project! Bring a Sharpie marker, Strathmore 400 Mixed Media pad (11" x 14" or larger), a pencil and eraser.

Would you like to learn more about drawing faces? Come for a week filled with drawing as well as creating 3-dimensional facial features. We will conclude by putting it all together to either copy a famous portrait, create a self portrait, or draw a friend. We may use our imagination a little, too! Bring a sketchpad, 2H and 6B pencils, soft charcoal pencil, and a kneaded eraser.

Ages 11+

This workshop is for older kids who want to begin painting in watercolor or improve their skills. We will start out copying simple studies and end the week painting real objects. Learn how to layer paint, mix paint, and do some cool effects, too! Parents: You are welcome to register and learn alongside your child. Bring a Prang Oval 8 Watercolor set (please get this brand), 140-lb. watercolor pad, synthetic watercolor brushes: #4, #6, and #8 rounds.

For ages 15+

This one-week intensive workshop introduces students to basic concepts of drawing from direct observation, rather than from a photograph. Students will draw a plaster cast in charcoal, developing their ability to render accurate proportions and value relationships. As students progress, more complex concepts and techniques will be introduced. Instruction will consist of individualized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's level and needs. By the end of the course, students will have an increased understanding and confidence in drawing from life.
